Talking about the rules, has me thinking out loud again
I'm just wondering, the rules state:
"No changing the Mills-Craft Factory Profile Bodies can be hollowed out for weight reduction".
Is hollowing out weight pockets in the bottom of the car allowed if the weight pocket can be seen like on most of our builds? If not, Is it allowed if it is covered by a cover plate?
How will most of you go about weighting these cars? Will any of you consider using the existing holes with cylindrical weights?

My plan is to "hog out" as much wood as possible from inside the car. The rules say no changing the the Factory Profile, so I am interpreting that to mean the exterior profile. I am then going to figure out some way to hold some tungsten. Not sure if that will be using those holes near the axles or not. I have the layout lines on the underside of the car for the "hog out" operation, but have not gone any farther yet.
I put one together last year and I'm almost finished with another one. I used tungsten cylindrical weights in the rear weight holes. I also covered up the hole I made in the bottom of each car with a thin strip of balsa wood, which seems to work fine.
I don't think there's anything wrong with making your own weight pockets if you want to.
Guys, for what it's worth..... back when I raced at pwdr (or should say was allowed to race at pwdr) Evolution took his Mills-Craft car and cut into 3 pieces (2 sides 1 middle) removed all the wood from inside car body then glued it back together. This allowed him to make a super lite body, now you know his secret on making a fast Mills-Craft.
I knew there had to be something different about that car. That explains a lot.
While you're not allowed to race in PWDR (and I've chosen not to send them anything because of that), I am very pleased to see how well you're doing at NPWDRL. That, combined with APR coming up, makes this a great year of racing.

They made a mistake (in my book) when the SLICKSTER was allowed to take the reins back
