Gals/Guys
Just finished updating rules for the 2019 season. Only changes will be in classes using 2.0 gram wheels. Now you have options on what wheels to use, Old style (pre 2009) remains at 2.0 grams while New style (post 2009) will be at 1.6 grams. The reason for the change, is make new style competitive with the old style wheels. Builder's that have cars already setup with old style wheels, then no changes need to be made, or product to buy!

What is the reason that the 2.4 gram wheels at derby evolution are flagged not legal for APR?. I can't find anything that would suggest these wouldn't be legal according to the description, but they put a note at the bottom "These wheels will not be legal for any classes at APR"
What about John's terminator 2.4's? I'm pretty sure the predators won;t work...they look like pre-2009 wheels to me.
Don't want to show up and be DQ'ed because I shouldn't have used a certain wheel from a certain vendor.

gphall,
Based on the listed information about the wheels, they are legal for APR in Basico and Pure stock. The only limiting factor is the Pre 2009 wheels...and those are not legal at NPWDRL either. If it is New Style, 2.4 gram and the lettering is inside and out, then they're good.

From the Evolution site:
The NPWDRL BASX Pinewood Derby Wheels are machined from official BSA wheels and are designed for the BASX class at NPWDRL. We will provide you with the best wheels on the market!
NPWDRL BASX Wheels Feature: •CNC Machined to exacting standards •Reactor outside hub design, the outside hub has been machined true and the double step removed •Fusion inner hub design, the inner hub has been machined true and coned •Wheels weighs 2.356 to 2.4 grams •Wheel tread turned concentric to the bore •Tread surface is machined flat •Inside edge of the wheel is machined true •Tread surface is narrowed to 7.5mm •All official lettering remains on the inside and outside of the wheel •Each set contains 4 wheels
Note on hub reduction option:
If you select the option for hub reduction you can run the wheels either mounted in the standard position or in the reversed mounted position. If running in the standard mounted position you will need washers or spacers so that the wheels will clear the body. If running in the reversed mounted position then you will need washers or spacers so that the lettering on the wheel clears the body.
Usage:
The NPWDRL BASX 2.4 gram wheels can be raced without any additional preparation, but for the best performance please follow these steps. •It is important to prepare the wheels for the proper lubrication. Each wheel bore should be polished resulting in a slippery smooth surface. As an example, do not use graphite to polish if you are going to use oil as your lubrication. •The hub (inside and out) along with the inner edge of the wheels should be polished to a slippery smooth finish •If you are not sure how to prepare a set of wheels consider having Derby Evolution prepare your wheels with the Revolution Race Prep Process
These wheels are legal for: •The BASX class at NPWDRL •Some cub scout races
These wheels will not be legal for any classes at APR
Please check your rules to make sure these wheels are legal for your race!
